Speakers:
Ms. Oleksandra Kozlovska joined MedGlobal team as the Ukraine Country Representative since March 2023. She has over 9 years of experience in management positions with Ukrainian state authorities. Ms. Kozlovska has two Master’s Degrees in International Law and Administration and was director of international cooperation departments in the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine. Since February 24, 2022, when the Russian full-scale invasion began, Ms. Kozlovska coordinated all the humanitarian medical aid for Ukraine, took part in the damage assessment process, was responsible for intergovernmental relations in the healthcare sector, and represented Ukraine in the EU4Health program.
Dr. Maya Bizri, MD MPH is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine at the American University of Beirut.She is the Director of the Psychiatry Consultation Liaison service and Psycho-oncology service at AUBMC. She also has a background in public health and joined MedGlobak in November 2022. Her interest in global mental health, particularly in addressing the mental health needs of healthcare workers developed post working in disaster and low resource settings in Beirut in 2019. Recently, as part of MedGlobal’s expanding work, Dr Bizri conducted a trauma-informed care training in Lviv, Ukraine for healthcare workers addressing burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and management of patients exposed to trauma.
Dr. Kathleen Gallagher joined the MedGlobal Ukraine team in April 2023 following the invasion. She has completed 3 trips with the team since the beginning of the war and has focused on prehospital medical care and triage and mass casualty training programs for several hospitals in Lviv. She is a former Army combat medic and served overseas in both Iraq and Afghanistan. She is currently a fourth-year General Surgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She hopes to continue working with MedGlobal for many years to come following the completion of her surgical training.
Dr. Tanya Bucierka is a very proud second generation Ukrainian American and an Emergency Medicine Physician in Eugene, Oregon. She has been on five mission trips with MedGlobal since Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine. She teaches point of care ultrasound to front line medics and doctors. She has many family members in Ukraine and is very passionate about her work in Ukraine.
Moderator:
Dr. Hannah Wild is a General Surgery Resident at the University of Washington focused on the humanitarian response to civilian casualties in conflict settings. Her clinical interests are in trauma surgery and critical care. Her research examines the epidemiology of civilian conflict casualties, standardization of data collection and risk stratification among humanitarian actors, mitigation of civilian harm from explosive weapons emphasizing vulnerable subpopulations such as pediatric victims of blast injury, as well as methods to increase inclusion of nomadic pastoralists in health campaigns.

Purpose
The Global Alliance on War, Conflict, and Health (GAWCH) is pleased to announce the launch of its webinar series. The series aims to create awareness and call attention to current hot topics in war and health around the world. Webinar speakers will bring news from their recent work, including the causes and actors in the conflicts, the role of relief work, the human health toll of conflict, on-site epidemiological research, and much more.

The 2023 webinar series will consist of bimonthly sessions focusing on some of the most pressing issues facing global neighbors living in, affected by, and arising from war and conflict.
